Our
beloved son, Vrishin Chandra, was
diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome.
This syndrome affects kidney function
and is usually treated with steroids.
Vrishin was responding well to the
steroid treatment, until he contracted
a Staph infection on his heart. This
led to two open heart surgeries to
repair, and eventually replace the
heart valve.
Vrishin remained on steroid treatments
and began dialysis on a daily basis.
We never lost hope that his kidney
function may return and Vrishin would
lead a normal life. After spending
many months recovering at The University
of Michigan, Mott’s Children
Hospital, Vrishin came home in September
and continued recuperating. In December
of 2003, Vrishin contracted an influenza
virus. His compromised immune system
could not fight the virus.
Vrishin Chandra passed away just shy
of his second birthday on December
20th, 2003. He was an inspiration
to all.
We will
never forget you VRISHIN……
Love Mom and Dad
